An attack that changed the course of history

On October 23, 1983, Hizballah executed a terrorist bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of 241 U.S. military personnel, including 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and three soldiers. This horrific act was a turning point in the history of U.S. involvement in the Middle East, and its impact continues to be felt today.

A day of mourning and remembrance

35 years after the bombing, we remember and honor the victims of this tragedy. Their sacrifice has not been in vain, and their memory will forever serve as a reminder of the dangers our military personnel face while serving their country. We must never forget their bravery and dedication, and we must continue to work towards a world where such senseless violence is no longer a reality.

On this somber anniversary, we pay tribute to the fallen. We honor their memory by continuing to fight for peace and justice, and by working to create a world where all people can live in safety and security.
