The 50-year-old is known for his quick wit and sharp observations, and is sure to bring his own unique style to the Late Late Show.

Kielty said he was "delighted" to be given the opportunity to host the show.

"The Late Late Show is an iconic part of Irish television and I'm thrilled to be asked to guest host it," he said.

"I'm a huge fan of the show and I can't wait to get behind the desk and have some fun with the audience."
